Dead Horse Run ATV Trail
This 78 mile long trail has links with the Tuscobia Trail, and Stock Farm Bridge Campground as well as ATV routes and trails to Gildden, Clam Lake, and Cayuga. The entire Dead Horse System is 78 miles with several loops to choose from. What to Expect: Most of the trail system is located on snowmobile trails with a tread about 14 feet wide. Much of the trail has a firm tread; however, some sections are located on wetter soils and pools of water may be present on the trail. In addition to bringing tools and perhaps fuel, one should consider a tow strap in your kit. On this trail system, Clam Lake is one of the few opportunities for purchasing fuel. The Dead Horse Slough Trail Head is located on the north side of State Highway 77 approximately 3 miles east of Clam Lake, WI, next to the Dead Horse Slough. There is a small gravel parking lot for about 6 cars. It is possible to park a trailer in the lot but turning space is limited.
