Hello Clam Lake!
As I sit writing this the sun is shining with the temps above freezing. So nice to know it will not go below zero during the night. Come March that gets old fast! Of course, this is the “lull before the storm”. A big, heavy wet snowstorm is headed our way. I think the word of the day is “roof rake”. I have heard several reports of stores charging high prices for rakes with limited amounts that sell out in no time. Supply and demand – name of the game, I guess. Time for spring!!!
A reminder that the Community Club meeting/Pot Luck/Bingo will be this Thursday the 14th. Meeting at five, Pot Luck around 5:30 – Bingo whenever. Come and join us and have a few giggles.
The community wishes a big “Welcome Home!” to Robin Sersch (Pinky). He is once again a Clam Laker after his sojourn in Marshfield. We are thankful he is well enough to return home and wish him continued good health. He did not come alone – with him is his new puppy Wyatt. A real cutie!
I would also like to wish a Happy Birthday to Barb Cook of Clam Lake and Pardeeville. She will be turning 70 years young on March 13! We wish her a wonderful day and many more!
Also a belated happy birthday to Zac Ransom whose birthday was on February 24th.
Faces of Clam Lake:
Clam Lake has always been a community of new personalities whether they be new residents, summer people or tourists. We welcome them to our ever changing village.
Kim Filter is one of our newer residents. She hails from Waterloo, Wisconsin. Kim moved here about a year ago taking a job at the Clam Lake Junction. She is the proud owner of three fur babies – her dog Trax and two kitties, Koda and Triton.
Kim loves living in Clam Lake and it shows! Whenever one stops in she is all smiles. She is a valuable asset to her workplace. Trax has become a much beloved member of the community with folks stopping in just to see him. If you have a treat in hand, he will be your friend for life.
Kim loves to fish and fix things. She is also an avid Pickle Ball player and, from personal experience, can be a fearsome opponent on the court.
Her parents, Alice and Rick, will be joining her as Clam Lake residents soon. We say, “Welcome! Welcome!”
Remember, if you have news items feel free to email or call me.
Till next week……THINK SPRING!!!!
