Hello Readers!
It’s 7:55am Monday morning, Tax Day! By now I hope most of you have filed your income tax and although there are some “procrastinators” out there today is the deadline… Maybe the IRS is in a forgiving mood this year…
Last Thursday the Community held it’s monthly Potluck Dinner but, beforehand the group went to Brian and Doris Johnson’s to view Brian’s clay carvings used for decoys..The presentation was really interesting on the process that they go thru to carve the sculpture to make the decoys..It seemed to be a complicated process and Brian does beautiful work..We all had alot of questions for Brian and Doris and really enjoyed the our time there..Thank you very much Brian and Doris for sharing their workshop and home with us!!
There were 18 people at the potluck on Thursday and to start the meeting we all stood to say the Pledge..Then Bill read the minutes of the March meeting, with the Treasurer’s report breakdown.. The minutes were excepted as read..We then discussed a new fundraiser to put a new roof on the building. The last roof was put on in the early 1990’s and really needs to be replaced..the plan is to have a fundraiser to help defray the costs and it was discussed to go with a metal roof this time which lasts alot longer than the shingle roof..After the meeting was adjourned we all settled in to play a few games fo killer bingo…A Lot of fun was had by all!! The next meeting will be held On Thursday, May 11th…
Next week I’ll get out the trusty birthday calendar..Until next time..Be Kind!
