Good Evening Readers!
It’s Sunday evening and 31 degrees out there, it’s been very windy today here on Lower Clam Lake. It was nice to see the sun for the last few days, those dreary grey winter days just aren’t any fun and they bring a chance of snow…We have been lucky that most of the recently predicted snow has gone elsewhere but, that sure doesn’t make the Birkie skiers very happy…That big event will be held on February 25th this year… So, even though we don’t want alot of the white stuff let’s hope the skiers get enough to make the race safe…
Well, the Clam Lake 7 descended on VFW Post 7300 last Sunday to play “Big Beef Bingo”. Lynne Rice, Georgie Fanella, Bev Vadnais, Pat Dudley, Kish Hodgeman, Danett Peters and myself went to Glidden to play and play we did! Although most of the games caused us some confusion we all had a great time.. Bev and I came away the big beef winners as we both got a bag of steaks… and as we all said we would be back next year. I have to say the steaks I won were great!
It seems that February is almost half over..where has that time gone? There were a few Cable friends that have robins in their yard already… Can Spring be far behind?
I know there are a few snowbirds that are loving their winter retreats..but, thoughts of their Clam Lake home are on their minds…
The community potluck was held last Thursday and it seemed to be Italian night as we were treated to lasagne, spaghetti, lasagna, beef rollups, cheesy potatoes, scallop potatoes and ham, beans and desserts. If you missed it you really missed out…
The next potluck will be held on Thursday,March at 5pm . We all hope you can be there…
For anyone looking for Dodo’s address I have it.. I feel funny about publishing it in the paper…so, call me.
Stay safe, stay warm..Until next time…be kind!
